worldstudio foundation web presence

core screen
The core screen design is fluid; it expands and contracts to the browser window size. Images from foundation projects and initiatives are the main focus, refreshing each time a visitor returns.

scholarship recipients screens
Each recipient of a scholarship is presented at the site with a portrait and artist’s statement. Links to view the artwork open new windows. All recipients since 1999 can be viewed.

sphere : publications
Sphere, the foundation's membership magazine is a rich compilation of stories and actions we can take to change our world.

worldstudio foundation

While Worldstudio Foundation has a variety of programs and events, many people see only one dimension, scholarships. It was essential to portray the full scope, richness, and impressive results of their work. Another critical goal was to reduce demands on the time of the limited Foundation staff.

Each year an impressive body of work is produced by students, mentor/artist teams, and artists donating to the fundraising auction. To express this richness we developed a way to access, display, and archive hundreds of images. We developed a production system using structured filenames, scripting and html templates which allows us to update the site efficiently and with limited resources.

The website provides practical information, anticipating and answering visitors questions. In this way it functions as a virtual staff member, available 24 hours a day.
